I was so foolish and ignorant;
I was like a beast before You.
Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory.

Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.

My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

It is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
That I may declare all Your works.

My pod of Crocs

Did you know that a group of Crocodiles is called a pod? It can also be called a congregation. I think a group of Crocs would be best called "scary".  Unless they are Crocs for your feet, then they are the bomb.

For Mother's Day, I was given the gift of shoe shopping. I bought four new pairs of Crocs.  These aren't my 3 year old's Crocs.  These are really cute and will be well worn during the summer.

These are my favorites - Adara in Bronze.
I got these (Cleo) in Khaki.
My favorite (and always wearable) Athens in black.
If you know me, you know these will go with everything.  Baja in orange.
What to wear tomorrow?

How I didn't spend our stimulus check...

When Gigi passed away, we were left with an empty room. It's right off our dining room and the perfect place for a school room / play room.  I think Gigi would be happy.

My plan was to take our stimulus check to Ikea and really stimulate the economy.  Wait! Ikea is a Swedish company.  And Surferman thankfully has more common sense then I do (at least sometimes) so it was decided that I'd scrounge to outfit and decorate the room.

Here are some pictures - not quite "before" shots.  I'll post "after" shots after I'm done.

We have cleared Gigi's things and furniture.
We've painted the walls.  Grom chose this great shade of blue.
I've been gathering furniture - from Gigi's house, yard sales, and I'm even looking at the curbside mall (those sometimes scary, but full of potential things sitting on a sidewalk with a "free" sign on it).

I think these cupboards are going to be for school supplies.
I see a big chair for reading in this corner.
The room gets great light from a sliding glass door.
I'd like a desk where this table is.  I'd have a straight view of it from the kitchen.
I'm waiting on carpet.  I bought some carpet squares from Flor to make an area rug.  They are on back order so I'm waiting patiently to put the room together.  I still need some sort of a desk or table - preferably kid sized with room for growth.

Any ideas for me?

The Laundry

Almost Won

Laundry is my nemesis.  It's never done - D O N E - done.  There is always something more that needs to be washed and dried and folded and put away.  It's unending!

There are also so many ways to save money when doing laundry that there is always something I can feel guilty about not doing.
  • Hanging the laundry on the clothesline.
  • Fighting stains to keep that shirt wearable.
  • Making your own laundry detergent.
  • Washing and drying clothes at the right time - we have a time of use meter and sometimes are definitely cheaper.
  • Moving the clothes from the washer to the dryer at the right time to prevent mildew.
It's a chore and since I don't plan on giving up clothing any time soon - I have to get over it.

How do you make laundry more enjoyable?

Organized Baby Shower Present

Lara, the Lazy Organizer just got a new supply of Organizing Bags.  She had a giveaway last week to advertise her new supply.  I didn't get my post done.  I didn't win.  I never seem to win those bloggy giveaways, but that's something else to blog about.

Regardless, I want to share one of the things I've been doing with Organizing Bags.

I give them as baby shower gifts.  I've been to a lot of baby showers lately - four in the last two weeks.

One of my favorite uses for these great sacks is keeping Grom's stuff contained and organized.  I think every new mom needs them.  I also put some of my favorite things in the bags - Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment and Pajama Time by Sandra Boynton to name a few.

I still have a small supply left.  You can get them directly from me or you can buy them through the links above.
